I was never the girl who got super into beauty products. I wore the same brands, rarely tried anything new, technique was not my forte, and minimal/fast was best. However, I still wished to be one who had the perfect cat-eye, healthiest hair, or signature scent. I made it a resolution that I would begin putting more effort into my beauty and skincare regimen. I started getting facials regularly from Joanna Czech, trying new products, and even watching a few makeup tutorials here and there.

I’m still by no means an expert, but over the past two years I have tried so many more products of all price points, learned, yes learned, how to wash my hair less (apparently every day is HORRIBLE for your hair), perfected my brows (thanks to Alba!), and honestly just had more confidence in myself. This competitive & comparison industry can be tough, but feeling comfortable in my own skin is the only approval I will ever need. I’m still trying to perfect the perfect cat-eye…

The products below are all pretty much used as part of my daily routine. I just got this eye masque and obsessed doesn’t even begin to describe my feelings for it. It can also be used as an eye cream morning & night by applying less than instructed (how I prefer to use it). Please let me know if you have any questions or recommendations of your favorite products!

I’m definitely a minimalist. I don’t even wear foundation regularly. Sometimes I feel like I should get more into my makeup routine, but then I know that once I get hooked on more, it might be hard to do less, which I think is better for my skin overall. I have started using more body scrubs and face masks. My makeup is still at a minimum, but it’s fun to treat myself with the more indulgent and relaxing beauty routines. Thanks for sharing your favorites!

Amy, I TOTALLY feel you on this!!! I also wore the same brands for years and went I would try something new and it didn’t work, I just went back to my old products. I rarely tried anything new (even lipstick) until a few years ago and technique was DEFINITELY not my jam. I went to a Sephora to make sure I was contouring right (lol). I can’t help, but love minimal and fast in my daily routine though. I just don’t like wearing foundation of any kind so I do moisturizer/sunscreen, concealer, blush, eyeliner, brow pencil, lip gloss and just recently started using highlighter.

I recently cleaned out my makeup drawer and have decided to try and venture out more regarding skincare/masks. What’s your skincare routine look like? I’d love to see a post about it! xo

    Happy Friday, Amy!

I use that Nars concealer and I love it! And I hear the best things about Charlotte Tilbury, so I’m excited to try some of her makeup. I just wish they carried it in more stores so I could experiment before ordering anything online.

Jenna, do you feel like the Nars concealer can be drying or leave that cake effect? I’ve been looking into a new one and this was one of the options!

Sorry – these pictures were taken at the Viceroy Hotel in NYC, so I don’t know where the mirror came from. I agree, it’s gorgeous!
