Everyday FJ is a blog series you can expect every Saturday that features what I shopped for that week, what I’m watching/reading/listening to, and any and everything going on at home and around town. If you have a question or request for Everyday FJ, fill out the contact form or follow along on Instagram and send me a DM.

Knee-High Boots
Knee high boots are making a comeback this season, so I treated myself to these Marc Fisher Georgiey Pointed Toe Knee High Boots from Nordstrom. I love the pointed toe and slender heel — they are chic, sexy, and instantly elevate fall and winter outfits.
Toteme Tote Bag
This tote bag is the most gorgeous winter white. I’m so excited to wear it during the fall/winter season, but of course, it works year-round. Toteme is made in Italy, and this particular tote bag features pebble-grained leather and a zip top to ensure your belongings are always safe and secure!
Hair Treatment Oil
I’ve decided to give hair oiling a whirl. Hair oiling is basically using oil on your scalp to revive roots and provide extra nourishment and in time, promotes longer, thicker, healthier hair. With the Sephora Savings Event happening, ordered a bottle of HoliRoots Pre-wash Hair Treatment Oil to try. It’s formulated with ashwagandha to strengthen your hair, and you can either apply it for five minutes before your shower or wear it overnight! It smells wonderful, and I’m excited to see if it makes a difference. I’ll keep you posted!
Nighttime Hair Serum
I also ordered a bottle of this night serum by Kératase that supposedly “hydrates, strengthens, detangles, and enhances shine while you sleep.” I’ve used it a few times and WOW it smells incredible. If you couldn’t tell, I’m on a bit of a hair health journey and very open to trying new things! This Nutritive 8H Magic Night Serum Hydrating Treatment for Dry Hair is safe for colored hair and has almost 5 stars on Sephora, so here goes nothing.
What I'm Watching / Reading / Listening to
Listening: We are heading out of town on a true vacation this Sunday, so I’ve downloaded a few audiobooks ahead of our trip. Obviously, Britney’s Woman in Me is one of them. The other is Matthew McConaughey’s autobiography. I feel like social media has already given away the best parts of Brit’s memoir, but I’m still excited to dig in and hear her stories for myself.
Watching: For the plane, I’m downloading a few cheesy rom-com’s that I know Will won’t want to watch with me. No Hard Feelings with Jennifer Lawrence, Long Shot with Charlize Theron & Seth Rogan, and Love at First Sight with Haley Lu Richardson (from White Lotus)
Reading: For the pool, I’m taking my Kindle and finally reading Where the Crawdads Sing!
Around Town
This past week, I dined at Santo with one of my girlfriends. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville for dinner and brunch!
Will and I also were able to manage two date nights this week — one at Cork & Cow and the other at Culaccino. Both are located in Franklin, TN. Cork & Cow is an amazing steakhouse, and Culaccino is some of our favorite modern-Italian. We love to sit at the bar for both and just enjoy the atmosphere! I love the new beef skewars at Cork & Cow, and Culaccino has a great lamb pizza.
At Home
Earlier this month on EFJ, I mentioned this light fixture for our bedroom. It ended up not working (i.e. we didn’t love it in the bedroom), so we’ve been playing musical chairs with lighting. The fixture is now in the formal room, and we took Will’s office light and moved it to our bedroom, and replaced his with my office light. Are you following? If not, no worries — I’m working on a home lighting blog post to break down all of our fixtures and lamps, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
Travel
Tomorrow, we leave for Cabo to celebrate Will’s birthday, and I could not be more excited and ready. I need a vacation and have no plans besides lounging by the pool and eating/drinking everything I can! We’ll be there for four nights, and I’m already mourning the trip being over. I’ll be updating the ‘What I’m Packing for Mexico‘ blog post and sharing outfits via my LTK page, so be sure to follow me there!

Q: I know you have shared before, but can you please link the wet/dry vacuum again?
A: Here you go! I love this vacuum so much, its grossly satisfying how much it cleans. With iLoop smart sensor technology, FLOOR ONE S3 detects wet/dry messes on sealed hard floors and intelligently adjusts suction power and water flow for completely clean results. Floors dry quickly and streak-free.
Q: Where to get adidas white sambas and how is sizing?
A: Linked what I could find here! For sizing, I normally wear a women's US 8 in sneakers. For these I got the men's US 7 and they fit perfect. For reference, I also wear a 38 in Veja sneakers and Golden Goose sneakers.
Q: I'm looking for crossbody handbag options non-designer logo and under 1K. Do you had any recommendations?
A: Yes! Shopbop has a great assortment of handbags that are within this price range and "quiet luxury". I rounded up some of my favorites here!
Q: What is your favorite candle?
A: This one. Its one of my "expensive but worth it" items. It comes in a few sizes but it's not lost on me that its very expensive for a candle. I try to use sparingly. The scent is SO good and has a nice spread throughout the house. I've gifted it a few times and the recipients always say its their new favorite!
Q: How would you suggest starting a whole wardrobe restyle?
A: I would start by determining what I want my new style to be. Compile an album of inspo outfits from Pinterest and/or Instagram. Start to recognize the similarities in pieces/colors/silhouettes you're drawn to. Check to see if you have any of those items already. Then start to build your list. I would try to capsule it and make sure you have numerous outfit ideas for each item. Then as you start to get dressed daily, if you realize "I need X" make a note of it. See how often you wish you had that piece, and then add if necessary. You'll start to get the hang of outfit formulas, and also what kind of items you feel the most confident in. Invest in those pieces. For what it's worth, this was my though process behind creating MAYSON the label. I've always prided myself in wearing wardrobe essentials and really wanted to make sure I could offer pieces of great quality and longevity to consumers.

The Row Park Leather Tote (Dark Taupe)
I’ve used my Goyard tote for years now and decided I wanted a versatile alternative. When I spotted this one by The Row, I knew it was the one instantly. I don’t own anything like it shape-wise and love that it was more mid-size but still able to hold my laptop when necessary. It’s super comfortable on the shoulder, and the leather quality is amazing, too. It’s a smart shoulder bag that I won’t tire of wearing day after day. The Goyard just got a little loud and large for me, and this has been the perfect alternative.
AGOLDE 90s Mid Rise Straight Jeans
I’ve been an AGOLDE denim fan for a long time and recently swapped out my forever go-to (the 90s Pinch Waist) for these 90s Mid Rise Straight Leg. This new silhouette has quickly become my most worn pair of jeans this year. They run a little big, which makes them naturally more relaxed than the Pinch Waist. I suggest ordering your true size and a size down to see which fit you like better, but the bottom line is you can’t go wrong with these jeans. They are perfect! I have a full review on both pairs of these jeans in my denim guide.
Amazon Pet Hair Remover
For my fellow dog-moms, if your fur child sheds, you NEED this tool. I ordered the Chom Chom Roller from Amazon recently and it has been a complete game changer in terms of cleaning up after our three dogs. Even if you just have a super furry blanket that sheds, you need this! It picks up every last bit of hair and lint and has become my favorite, most satisfying house chore that I do daily.
More of my Amazon favorites here!
Silver Slingbacks
Silver is trending and making a bit of a comeback this season. We’ve all been so focused on gold for so long, but now it’s time to let silver back into our closets and jewelry drawers. I originally bought these Sam Edelman slingbacks in black, and decided to get them in silver to update my heel collection. They’re under $150, incredibly comfortable, and will go with an infinite number of looks — they definitely belong in your closet, too. While these are trending for the season, I do think they will become a staple for future seasons. Think of it as a new neutral.
Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant
I, like so many of you, was woo’ed by the “clean deodorant” craze the past few years and tried my hardest to make the switch. Unfortunately, I never found one that worked the way my tried and true Cashmere Mist by Donna Karen does, so I’m back to wearing this daily and super happy about it. During the NSALE, this deodorant came in a 3-pack for an amazing price, so I stocked up. I know they make an aluminum-free version now, and I’m planning to try that once my three are used up!
What I'm Watching / Reading / Listening to
Watching: When we aren’t starting a new series, you will almost always find my husband and me watching The Office on repeat. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve rewatched the entire series — it’s a lot. However, we changed things up recently and started rewatching Parks & Rec, which is just as amazing. I love having our comfort shows!
Speaking of, I decided to start Gilmore Girls from the beginning. I was in the thick of college when it first aired, so I only made it through season one years ago. I’ve started a new routine of watching it every Saturday morning, and I’m really enjoying it!
Reading: If you could see my To Be Read pile…Where the Crawdads Sing has been collecting dust on my nightstand for far too long. It’s waiting for me to pick it up, so I hope I can find the time to dig in soon!
Listening: I’m not a big podcast person, but when I’m in the mood to listen to one, it’s always Sara and Erin Foster’s called The World’s First Podcast. I love their sisterly banter, especially when it’s just the two of them on the mics without a guest. That being said, though, their guests are always incredible, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every episode I’ve listened to!
Around Town
Shopping: I heard that Kirna Zabête is opening a location this fall in Nashville, and I’m very excited. If you aren’t familiar, it’s a luxury boutique that features gorgeous edits from the best designers. I’ve been to the New York locations, and their assortment of apparel, handbags, shoes, accessories and everything else is always super impressive. I will definitely be visiting the store here as soon as it opens!
Dining: 9 times out of 10, if Will and I are going out on the town for dinner, we end up at Josephine’s. The ambiance is ideal for date night (think dark and vibey), and we love grabbing seats at the bar. While the menu is updated seasonally, they always have their staples, which is what I go for. The cornbread and crab dip appetizers are amazing and, if you happen to go during Happy Hour, the burger and fries are a must. Brunch is also incredible at Josephine’s — just don’t forget to grab a bag of homemade molasses cookies from the hostess stand on your way out!
At Home with FJ
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that Will and I bought a home outside of Nashville during 2020 with the idea of fixing it up and eventually flipping it. We’ve been renovating our home since we moved in, and I’m so happy to report that the renovations are done for the most part. Of course, there will always be a few minor things that need updating, but we’ll get to them when we can. For now, I’m focusing on purging a ton of stuff from our previous move then slowly furnishing the bedrooms.
As always, I’m working with Natalie from NEST design on our bedroom and guest bedroom (I also worked with her when we first moved to do the secondary bathroom upstairs) and am excited for what she’s come up with for both rooms. If you’ve ordered furniture within the last few years, you know it takes time to arrive so it can be a slow process. I did order this light fixture for our bedroom, and this bed for the guest room and am waiting for it to arrive. The featured image is inspo Natalie pulled for the guest room, can’t wait for it to all come together!
Recent Travels
This season has been full of travel, honestly it seems like every other week I was on a plane. 99% was going to NYC to work on stuff for MAYSON the label. Whether it be fittings, design meetings, press meetings, celebration dinners, etc, I was always on the go. A few hotels I’ve recently stayed at in NYC that I really liked: The Ned, The Mercer, The Ludlow, Park Lane Hotel, and 11 Howard. Either great locations, amenities, room vibes, etc, these are always at the top of my list when I’m traveling to NYC.
During my last trip to NYC I ate at Principe and it was SO good! A few other spots I love: La Mercerie, La Pecora Bianca, Balthazar, Lucien, & Lure Fishbar.
For shopping, I always love the designer stores in Soho as well as the Upper East Side. Plus the street style fashion in both areas are so different, yet so fun to admire. I also try to make time for Bergdorf’s, Kirna Zebête, The Real Real, & What Goes Around Comes Around.
Coming Up
In a few weeks, I’m heading to my home away from home, Dallas. This trip is mainly to host a celebratory MAYSON the label dinner with close friends, thanking them for their support (some have heard me talk about my future clothing line for 10 years!). The celebratory dinner will be at my favorite Dallas restaurant, Monarch, and I can’t wait. I’ll also be squeezing in a much-needed hair appointment as well as celebrating one of my best friend’s husband’s birthdays.
As for my hair, I’m thinking it’s time to take out the extensions I’ve had for the past year and go a little more low maintenance. These particular extensions have provided thickness, not length, but I’m ready to part ways with them for now. As for color, my fellow blondes can probably attest that it’s always a struggle coming up with the perfect shade. I was playing with an iPhone filter which made my hair lighter and I kinda loved it! I think I’m going to go lighter and brighter for fall and winter to contrast the cold, dreary weather, though. I always get asked who does my hair; I’ve been going to Adriana Martinez since about 2013(?) and have continued traveling back to see her after leaving Dallas.

Q: I know you started using the ZO regime, how do you like it? Did you stop using the BR P50V? And if so, what from ZO do you use in place of it? I love the ZO Daily Power Defense but I'm not sure if I can mix with other products.
A: Short answer, I LOVE ZO. I am fully committed and solely using ZO products. I was advised ZO products work best when only using ZO. This could be a marketing tactic, or it could be true, either way, I've only been using ZO since August and have noticed such a difference. I wish I had taken more progress pics, but I'm planning to do a full ZO review. Yes, I did stop using Biologique Recherche P50V. I'm using the ZO Calming Toner paired with ZO Complexion Renewal Pads both morning and night. I'm consulting with Bethany who has created a personalized skincare routine based on my needs and goals.
Q: Can you recommend a belt that looks as crisp as Celine belt but doesn't cost Celine belt levels?
A: I'm assuming you're referring to this Celine belt I have. These are a few other belts I'm loving that are minimal in design and look great! This one, this one, this one, this one, & this one (under $50!).
Q: I sold off my Golden Goose sneakers and want a less flashy pair. Was thinking Vejas, but I don't know which ones or if you had any recommendations?
A: Sneakers are my weakness! First, check out my favorite sneakers post here. At the moment, I'm wearing my adidas the most. However this pair, this pair, and this pair are on my radar!
Q: What size is your Bottega Veneta black handbag?
A: I have the teen! I was originally planning to get the small, but after trying on in the store, the small didn't feel as comfortable as I was hoping. It wasn't until a few months later I tried the teen and I couldn't be happier! I use this bag 99.9% of the time now. Its the perfect day to night bag.
Q: I know you have shared your phone case before, but I was wondering if you would mind sharing again?
A: I get this same case pretty much anytime a new phone comes out. Just simple, sleek, & gold. They do have more colors and sizes here.
