I have often talked about my love for wardrobe essentials. I strongly believe it is the true foundation to building a versatile wardrobe. My closet consists of about 80% essentials and 20% fashion items. I have found that this formula gives me enough options to make getting ready for daily events less time consuming and more fun. Nobody likes standing in their closet and saying, “I have nothing to wear…” Today’s look is based on a few essential items I can’t live without, and adding a specialty piece to complete the perfect effortless look.

I recently picked up this black tweed blazer from Banana Republic and can’t get enough of it! I love anything with a great texture detail, and the tweed mixed with fringe is the perfect balance. As mentioned, I built this look around some of my favorite essentials. This black cami (I also own in white), is a must have, not to mention a great price point under $30! I wear them so often layered under pieces, or dressed up as seen in this post. I pretty much live in ripped skinny jeans, so pairing them with this look gave the ensemble and edgier feel. I love being able to add one special pieces to my outfit, and this tweed blazer did just that, creating a simple, but sophisticated & effortless look.
