It’s officially the last month of summer but judging by the daily temps, it’s far from over. I think all of us are more than ready for fall at this point, so today I’m sharing a summer date night outfit from Nordstrom that can (and eventually will) easily transition into the fall when it’s time!

Shorts and heels are one of my favorite summer pairings, especially when those shorts are more elevated than your standard, everyday denim shorts like these high waist pleated black shorts by A.L.C. They hit right where you want them to on the waist and offer a loose leg so you don’t feel constricted. I paired them with a simple white tank top (another option here), then layered up with a Nordstrom Signature button-up shirt. This oversized, poplin button-up is the perfect transitional piece from summer into fall because it can be worn open like I styled it here, and also easily buttoned-up and covered by a gorgeous blazer for Autumn weather to the office.

I completed this shorts and heels outfit idea with Bottega Veneta square toe sandals (budget friendly here) I fell in love with at Nordstrom to elevate the look overall, and I love how it turned out! I love this look and will absolutely be wearing it again before the summer’s over.
