I love the holiday season so much, but hate how fast it goes. Year after year, I swear it speeds up, so I try to do my best to lean into it as much as I can every December!

We got invited to a few holiday parties this year, so I wanted to find a gorgeous black holiday cocktail dress that I could wear more than once and that wasn’t so on-trend that it would be old news by next year. I found exactly that at Nordstrom with this A.L.C. Elvie Short Sleeve Sheath dress! I love how simple, elegant, and timeless it is with its shape and length, and appreciate the modern touches via the puffy sleeves (my favorite) and square neckline.

No matter your chest size, square necklines are so flattering because they accentuate your collarbone, which is such a naturally feminine area. I also love that square necklines create a blank canvas in terms of accessories, so you can wear short or long necklaces, and either sparkly studs or big statement earrings depending on the vibe of your look. I’m choosing to keep it simple with these fabulous platform heels by Saint Laurent, a sparkly bag, and a classic red lip!

This dress is an investment, but like I said, it’s so classic and timeless, it will last you many seasons and you can style it differently every time you wear it. Look elegant and modern all at once this holiday season when you shop at Nordstrom!
