YEAR OF THE HORSE

CHINESE NEW YEAR 20141 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 // 9

A majority of my job includes daily communication with our partners overseas. Building relationships with people across the world, some of whom I have never met, is fascinating to me. Sometimes I feel like I know them better than co-workers sitting just a few rows over from me!

This Thursday night (their Friday) will mark the start of Chinese New Year. The year of the Horse. I wanted to pay tribute to my fellow partners and honor them during their most celebrated holiday. The spirit of the horse is recognized to be the Chinese people’s ethos – making unremitting efforts to improve themselves. It is energetic, bright, warm-hearted, intelligent and able.

For those not born on a horse year (myself), the year ahead will bring health and prosperity. It is said to be an excellent time to travel, as the next 12 months will bring good luck. You are advised to mingle with the locals, savour authentic cuisine and discover somewhere you have never been before.

I like the sound of that.

Happy Chinese New Year my friends! Gong Xi Fa Cai!

XO!
