Best of 2021 | Our Favorite Products, Blog Posts, & What to Expect in 2022!

First, I want to say THANK YOU to all of you who have followed from day 1 or since yesterday. This is truly my dream job and I couldn't do it without your support/encouragement. THANK YOU. Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2022!

At the beginning of every year, I always feel so energized and inspired for the year ahead (I think this is true for many!). For me, (professionally) I'm considering 2021 as a rebuilding year. That doesn't mean by any means I did "worse" in 2021, in fact my business grew tremendously which I'm so proud of, but 2020 was a hard year and that definitely had an affect on me in 2021. I'm going on my ninth year of blogging (WOW) and again, to say this is my dream job would be an understatement. But that doesn't mean there aren't challenges. I think the last quarter of 2021 I just got burnt out. I had a lack of motivation, wasn't feeling inspired, and was posting just to post. I've actually heard this same thing from many peers who have been blogging as long (or longer) than me. But taking a little break from my standard editorial calendar workflow, taking time to be more in the moment, and starting new hobbies (like reading & cooking!) has actually given me the motivation I've been missing to go into 2022! There are a lot of exciting things happening this year which is also giving me timelines to look forward to. While you might not see anything super different on the blog for 2022, I'm going to put more effort on quality vs. quantity. I'm going to focus more on my capsules, monthly outfits, review posts, travel guides, home content, and creating reels. I'm very excited for this year.

Now, let's get to the good stuff! You know I couldn’t say good-bye to 2021 without sharing our favorite items! This entire list could be a capsule wardrobe in and of itself. From the best jackets and coatigans, to some of my favorite shoes, it’s all here for you to browse and shop! And it comes as no surprise that there are repeat styles from last year. These truly are the best items! Below are OUR 20 favorites for the year.

Most Popular Products of 2021

Grey Coatigan: Not only was this my top selling piece of 2021, but it coincidentally is a piece I wore too many times to count! I got this coatigan during the Nordstrom Sale and loved it so much, I grabbed both colors (grey and camel) because I knew I’d thank myself later. And I am!

White T-Shirt: The perfect white tee that keeps on giving, year after year! If you don’t already own this ATM white t-shirt, are you even a Fashion Jackson fan?!

Black Leather Jacket: In terms of best black leather jackets, this is it. It’s truly perfect, and I wear it all the time. For $500, it’s an investment piece but one that’s worth every single penny! If you’re looking for black leather jacket outfit inspo, check out this blog post.

Celine Sunglasses: Sunglasses come and go, but these Celine frames are ones I’ve worn consistently since 2018. They’re just so flattering and classically stylish.

Levis 501 Skinny Jeans: The Levis 501 skinny jeans are, hands down, my favorite pair of Levis under $100. No tears, no stretch—just very straightforward, classic jeans. I wear them all the time, and they are a wonderful staple to have in your closet. Check out my full Levis blog post for a breakdown of more of my favorite styles!

Golden Goose Sneakers: I mean. Need I say more?! I still love my Golden Goose sneakers and love the neutral styles. Read this post for honest review on Golden Goose sneakers; sizing questions, where to buy, and outfit ideas.

Camel Coatigan: I fell in love all over again this year with this camel coatigan from MANGO. It’s just the absolute best and it’s a little on sale right now, so I’d grab it while you can!

Camel Blazer: This is the most classic camel blazer. I’ve had this J.Crew blazer for well over four years, and it’s still in amazing condition. You get what you pay for! I love it because it’s perfect for a work into weekend look and is extremely versatile.

Veja Sneakers: Again, what is there to say besides they’re the absolute best?! Check out this post for a full review on the V10 Veja, and then this post to learn all about the V-Lock (velcro!).

White Tunic T-Shirt: This extra long, long-sleeve tee from Free People should be the example for every long-sleeve tee going forward! It’s the best layering piece, and for a tall girl like me, I love how long it is. Works great with jeans, over leggings, whatever! I have it in black and white.

White Jeans: No contest, these are the most flattering white jeans I’ve ever owned. I cannot recommend them enough if you’re in the market for perfect white jeans (and who isn’t?!).

Beige Shacket: Ah, the shacket. I wore the crap out of this one all year long, and it remains a favorite of mine!

Faux Leather Leggings: Spanx or Commando? The great debate, right? I love both for different reasons, which you can read about on this blog post!

Jenni Kayne Sweater: I’m so grateful for Jenni Kayne and her impeccable taste. The cashmere fisherman sweater is perfect in every way, and I own it in multiple colors because it’s just too good not to. Use code JACKSON15 for a discount.

Marc Fisher Black Boots: Grab these while they’re on sale right now! I am beyond obsessed with these perfect black leather lug sole boots from Marc Fisher. I wear them all winter-long with leggings, jeans, midi dresses, you name it! So stylish and very comfortable.

Amazon Luggage: When I tell you that this is the best luggage I’ve ever owned, believe me. I have Tumi pieces and Rimowa pieces, and neither compare to this set from Amazon. Plus, three pieces are under $200?! Incredible.

Anine Bing Utility Jacket: Besides my black leather jacket, this is my second most-worn outerwear piece of 2021. It was featured in my fall capsule because it’s a vital staple for every wardrobe!

Tan Suede Booties: Two years ago, we all fell in love with the Gigietta Bootie by Vince Camuto. That love came back with a vengeance this year and, even better, they’re on sale! I wear these tan suede booties with nearly everything during the fall.

Black Mock Neck Top: I own this top in black and probably wear it once a week. The fit is so flattering and, for under $20, it’s a versatile steal that goes with literally everything.

lululemon Joggers: The best joggers. I have them in the Trench color and wear them to lounge or run errands—they’re great for both! Definitely size up.
