First, I want to say THANK YOU to all of you who have followed from day 1 or since yesterday. This is truly my dream job and I couldn't do it without your support/encouragement. THANK YOU. Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2023!
At the beginning of every year, I always feel so energized and inspired for the year ahead (I think this is true for many!). I feel like the last 2 years were funky, and I think thats true for many. I wasn't feeling inspired the way I had been years prior, and social media was just a heavy place to be. However, Q3 and Q4 brought a lot of new and exciting opportunities and I'm feeling creative and inspired again!
I'm going on my 10th year of blogging (WOW) and again, to say this is my dream job would be an understatement. There are a lot of exciting things happening in 2023 which is giving me timelines to look forward to. While you might not see anything super different on the blog for 2023, I'm going to put more effort on quality vs. quantity. I'm going to focus more on my capsules, review posts, travel guides, and home content. I'm very excited for this year.
Now, let's get to the good stuff! You know I couldn’t say good-bye to 2022 without sharing our favorite items! This entire list could be a capsule wardrobe in and of itself. From the best jeans and sweaters, to some of my favorite shoes, it’s all here for you to browse and shop! And it comes as no surprise that there are repeat styles from last year. These truly are the best items! Below are OUR favorites for the year.
Most Popular Products of 2022
White T-shirt
The perfect white tee that keeps on giving, year after year! I’ve had this white tee for about 5 years now (I actually have multiple) and have shared it an embarrassing amount. I wear the small for fitted and the medium for relaxed. Wash in cold water and dry on low heat and it will look new for years (seriously no holes in any of mine). If you don’t already own this ATM white t-shirt, are you even a Fashion Jackson fan?!
90s Pinch Waist Jeans
Everyone needs a pair of perfect essential black jeans, and these are them. The AGOLDE 90’s Pinch Waist Jeans in Black Tea are the only black jeans I wear right now. They’re just… perfect! I featured them in the fall capsule, my denim guide, and packing guide and wear them numerous times a week because they are the best! If you’re into high-rise, straight fit jeans, definitely grab these.
Luggage
This set of rolling luggage by Amazon Basics is my absolute favorite. This 3-piece set includes a large suitcase, a mid-size suitcase, and the perfect size carry-on roller. I love this luggage because it’s the best suitcase on a budget, extremely lightweight and, more importantly, it holds up! I travel with it constantly and it has only suffered minor wear and tear. I use the carry-on religiously and the largest spinner, the 30-inch, (featured in image) for my longer trips as it holds the most.
Fisherman Sweater
I’m so grateful for Jenni Kayne and her impeccable taste. The cashmere fisherman sweater is perfect in every way, and I own it in multiple colors because it’s just too good not to. Use code JACKSON15 for a discount. Check out more of my favorite Jenni Kayne sweaters here! Wearing an XS.
Wide Leg Trousers
This year I really got into wearing trousers and you guys loved them just as much as me! I featured two different styles here because they were both hits! My favorite way to style wide leg trousers is with sneakers, but they are very easy to dress up with heels or boots too! I featured the tan pair in the fall capsule and my packing guide (I also have them in black). The dark charcoal were a pair I picked up from Nordstrom and are so comfortable, I wear them a lot when I travel. Glad you guys loved the wide leg pants as much as I did!
Boyfriend Shirt
This Boyfriend Shirt by Jenni Kayne is hands down the absolute best white button up I have ever owned. It was even included in the capsule last year. If you’re going to update your wardrobe and treat yourself to one incredible, long-lasting staple piece this year, make it this one and use my code JACKSON15 to save 15% off on your order! Fit is oversized; I wear an XS.
90s Pinch Waist High Rise Straight Jeans
This year I’ve definitely been more focused on adding great quality, non-ripped jeans to my closet and these are the best. They’re actually the same as the black AGOLDE jeans from this post. True to size and ones you will wear non-stop. They make for the perfect business casual jeans too since they are a clean finish without any rips. They are 100% cotton (no stretch), but they will releax with wear. These also made the list of my favorite jeans and packing essentials.
Coatigan
You guys clearly can’t get enough of this coatigan either because it was a top seller for 2022! Again, I featured it in the packing essentials post and fall capsule. I wear mine roughly 10,000 times every season (lol) because it goes with everything, immediately elevates a casual outfit, and just looks really good. It’s perfect for long-haul flights when you want to be cozy, warm, but still look put together. It’s also great for running errands and date night (paired all back to black of course). Fit is oversized; I wear a small.
Oversized Sunglasses
At this point, these are the only sunglasses I wear, unless I’m wearing an hat and then I opt for a pair with a thinner arm. They are so comfortable, truly no headaches, and super flattering! Online the lenses look green, but they aren’t that green in person and definitely look more black.
Charlotte Jeans
The best white jeans. They have been a favorite for 2 years now, so if you’re still on the hunt, grab this pair! They are high rise, straight leg, and not see through. I go into more details here in the denim guide and also featured them in last year’s spring capsule. The fit is super flattering and they go back to sandals, sneakers, heels, and boots! Fit TTS.
My Personal Favorites from 2022
Flamenco Leather Handbag
I didn’t think I would ever find a bag that would compete with my love for the Celine Mini Belt bag, but here we are. I purchased the Loewe Flamenco bag (medium) in early October and have used it almost every day since. I don’t know what it is about this bag, but it’s just SO GOOD. The leather quality is amazing, it holds SO much, its lightweight, comfortable, can be packed flat for travel, can be used as a clutch or crossbody, the list goes on. Recently I purchased the additional strap from the Loewe site and love the added detail. Cannot recommend this bag enough!
Reine de Nuit Perfume
Byredo has been one of my favorite fragrance brands for years. You might recognize the bottle because Mojave Ghost has been my go-to for the last 4 years. I shared some of my favorite perfumes here. When I was in NYC a few months ago, I smelled this one and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I bought it a few weeks later during my birthday trip to Dallas. Its become my new favorite (and Will’s!). It’s warm and spicy and everything I could have ever wanted in a fragrance.
Ballet Turtleneck Bodysuit
I honestly don’t know how I dressed myself for so long without having this bodysuit in my life. I’ve been casually sharing it for the past few months and it has really become the base for my winter outfits. I have 3 now bc I wear them SO often. It’s literally the perfect layering piece for fall/winter AND looks chic worn solo. It works with jeans, leather pants, joggers, and trousers. It’s like the unicorn of tops. And this is truly the only bodysuit I’ve worn that doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a bodysuit. Trust me you will love it.
Coffee Machine
After four years of having a Nespresso machine, we finally invested in the Miele coffee machine and couldn’t be happier. I haven’t bought a coffee once (unless traveling) because I so look forward to making my own each morning. I’m working on a detailed post regarding this machine to answer any questions you may have, but hands down one of my best purchases of 2022!
Suede Ankle Boots
I splurged on these at the beginning of the fall season, and I’m SO glad I did. I have worn them more than any other pair of shoes this year. They are the MOST comfortable, flattering, and go with nearly everything. I always travel with them because I know they can easily go from day to night. These booties I will have for years to come. Might need to get the leather pair for variation.
Vital Skincare Dewy Foundation Drops
You guys may already be aware of my obsession with Westman Atelier. I discovered the brand when I was looking for clean mascaras a few years ago and quickly became obsessed. Slowly, I have been adding more and more Westman Atelier products into my rotation. When the foundation drops were released, I immediately ordered and was not disappointed. Its a hydrating skin tint packed with serum-strength actives to visibly improve skin texture, firmness, and radiance drop by drop. Coverage is light/medium but I still feel like I get the coverage I’m looking for, for daily wear. I wear color III (light medium, gold undertone).
WholeFood Supplement
Earlier this summer I was introduced to Athletic Greens. Full disclosure, they reached out asking if I wanted to partner. But before I signed on I tried the product for 2 months to make sure I truly loved it. Well, here we are. Athletic Greens is supplement packed with 75 vitamins, minerals, wholefood sourced superfoods, probiotics and so much more! It helps with digestion, supports immunity (I didn’t get sick at all this year – not saying this is why, but it didn’t hurt), my hair/nails have been growing like crazy, and my skin is glowing. I could go on and on about the benefits. I take it every morning before coffee/breakfast (its best on an empty stomach) and just mix with 12 oz of water. It doesn’t taste like a green juice and its not sweet. There is a slight vanilla flavor, but that’s all I can pinpoint.
Exclusive Deal: Get 5 travel packs & 1-year supply of Vitamin D3 + K2 drops through my link when you subscribe. AG1 offers a 90-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked! It’s super easy to cancel/get money back!
Bedding
This was the year I decided to add little luxuries in life. Starting with bedding. I’ve had countless sets from various retailers and they always get mix-matched and I none ever really stood out. After every vacation/hotel stay, I would always tell Will, I wish I had their sheets; there is something about hotel bedding I love. Well, as soon as I got my first set of Boll & Branch sheets, I understood the hype. I truly feel like I’m getting into a luxurious hotel bed every night. The 100% organic cotton crips sheets are exactly what I was looking for. The bed blanket and duvet set are the perfect additions to complete the luxury sleep I’m looking for. Use code FJ20 for a discount
574 Sneakers
You guys know how much I love sneakers. I mean LOVE. I had been on a Golden Goose and Veja kick for a few years, but decided to switch things up. I’ve been loving my Converse sneakers, but find myself reaching for the New Balance 574s the most! Again, comfort is key and these are insanely comfortable. Under $100 and the perfect sneaker to go with all your spring/summer/fall/winter looks. Truly. I always travel with these sneakers since they go with basically everything! I took my true size in the grey/white combo.
Hand Soap
This might be an usual top purchased item, but WOW. Who can argue against a fancy hand soap? I had seen this for a while and finally got some during the holiday season and its the perfect boujee and still functional hand soap. It smells incredible, the container is stunning, and of course now I want it for all the bathrooms. For now, we will just keep it in the kitchen!
