I was listening to a podcast recently about how the blogging world has evolved, especially for bloggers who have been doing it for nearly a decade. Of course it got me thinking about how much my style has evolved since launching Fashion Jackson over six years ago. Now, I can really define my personal style and I feel like you guys definitely know what to expect from me. But since I have been doing it for a good amount of time, and my style is pretty much a foundation of elevated basics, it can be challenging to figure out new and creative ways to wear the same styles over and over again. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, but I am pushing myself to think a little more outside the box and stay relevant to you guys!
You know how much I love my neutrals, classic pieces, and adding a few edgy details here and there. I have found this foundation to work effortlessly in creating a wardrobe that works for me day after day, season after season, without skipping a beat. I always love when I come up with an new outfit combination that I can wear confidently and this outfit is one of those. I've worn pieces like this over and over and over on the blog during the last six years. And I'm 99.9% sure I've never worn this combination before and its now one of my top 10 favorite looks.
Anine Bing sent me this blazer/dress and since I'm 5'10, I knew layering it over an outfit would look best (versus wearing it as a dress). I had just picked up this denim skirt and thought the two look great paired together with my favorite white tee. It's sophisticated, fun, and adds newness to my wardrobe. Again, not reinventing the wheel here, just finding new ways to wear my favorites. If you're looking for new styles to add to your wardrobe that will be a great foundation - scroll through some of my favorites below!
