I realized at a very early age that surrounding myself in the fashion world was something I wanted to be a part of “when I grew up”.
Fast forward to a little over six years ago when I started my first corporate job in the fashion industry. This was not just any job, it was my new career, and it was exciting. I was traveling the world, learning how to become a leader, pushing myself through new challenges, but yet, there still seemed to be something missing. I started this “hobby”, Fashion Jackson, as a creative outlet from the corporate job after about three years. It began to fill that void and quickly became a strong passion of mine.
The past three years have been quite the balancing act between managing a 40+ hour a week job, creating new consistent content for the blog every week, on top of building relationships, and making time for myself. I had reached the point where it was time to make some changes that were flat out scary. Deep down I knew what I wanted and needed to do. So, I began to build a timeline and set goals.
Last week I made a difficult decision and ended my corporate career. I wasn’t just saying good-bye to a job. This place was my family and it was the most bitter-sweet day I have experienced. Overwhelmed with emotions of sadness, but excitement, I knew it was the right time, and I had made the right choice.
Today I’m beyond excited to announce that I will be working on Fashion Jackson full-time. I have a million ideas running through my head (seriously), and I’m excited to be able to finally devote all of my attention to my passion. But first, I have to thank each and every one of you. Because, if it weren’t for you, I would not have been able to make this change in my life. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for continuing to follow along, allowing me to pursue my passion and share this journey with you.

That’s incredible, Amy!!! Congratulations!!! I work in fashion currently too and I’m getting the itch to do it on the side because in the department I’m in, I’m surrounded by stats, numbers and things “uncreative” if you get what I mean. You’re an inspiration, Amy! I know it’s scary, but there’s a newfound sense of freedom that comes with taking that leap of faith. Thanks for inspiring me to go for it! xo
Congrats Amy!! So excited for this new adventure of yours and can’t wait to see your new ideas unfold on the blog 🙂
