My main focus is always fashion, but I love to dip my toe into the home and beauty pool when I feel like I have something important or fun to share. That said, I was thinking recently about how my beauty essentials tend to change depending on the season and how different my summer beauty essentials can look from my winter beauty essentials. The summer brings the heat, so this is a short list of the 12 summer beauty essentials I swear by and use almost daily throughout summertime!

Tinted Moisturizer: I don’t wear as much makeup during the summer because having a base tan makes it unnecessary. I switch from my normal winter foundation to a tinted moisturizer for just the right amount of color and coverage. I love Saie’s Slip Tint Dewy Tinted Moisturizer. The coverage and color are perfect, and it has 35 SPF built-in for extra protection from the sun!

Bronzer: I’ve been using this bronzer for years now and swear by it. I love the Summer Skin Velvet Matte Bronzer from Lawless. It goes on so smoothly and helps you achieve that perfect sunkissed look. It’s also talc-free and clean, so you can feel good about wearing it daily!

Lip Balm: My lips get super dry during the winter, but the same goes for summertime especially if I’m lacking on my water intake by accident! I love ILIA’s simple, straightforward lip balm. It’s formulated with sunflower seed oil, avocado oil, and shea butter to protect, moisturize, and give your lips that natural dewy finish!

Hair Mask: Since I enjoy laying out in the sun during the summer, my hair can get a bit more damaged and dry so I swear by Prose’s hair mask, AKA pre-shampoo mask. It’s formulated with all the good stuff (jojoba oil, hyaluronic acid, oat oil, mango butter, and more) to hydrate and repair your hair cuticles. Apply it before you shampoo once or twice a week for 30 minutes, rinse it out, and prepared to be amazed at your hair’s newfound softness!

Body Lotion: The Necessaire summer beauty essential for me is their body lotion. It’s just perfect, simply put. Fragrance-free, effective without being too heavy or too light, and non-irritating. It’s a really straightforward body lotion that’s perfect for every skin type—I use it every day, multiple times a day!

Scalp & Body Scrub: Don’t forget to exfoliate during the summer! It’s easier to remember in the winter when your skin is already dry, but with as hot and sweaty as we can get during summertime, body scrubs are essential. I love Ouai’s St. Barts Scalp and Body Scrub and try to use it twice a week to ensure super smooth skin! It also smells so luxurious and good.

Sunscreen: I am new to Beautycounter products and absolutely loving their Countersun Daily Sheer Defense For Face in SPF 25. We all know how imperative sunscreen is to wear daily, and Beautycounter’s clean beauty mission was a natural fit for me! Self-Tanner: +Lux Unfiltered’s gradual self-tanning cream is my absolute favorite by far. Although I love to lay in the sun during the summer, I don’t do it nearly as much as I used to in my youth, so that’s where this self-tanner comes into play. You can use it daily or just as needed, depending on what kind of sunless tan you’re looking for. Can’t recommend this product enough!

Ice Face Roller: Not only does an ice roller feel incredible during the warmest summer days, but it works to depuff your face every day thusly why it’s a summer beauty essential for me. It’s just $13-$15 via Amazon and the relief your face gets when it’s blazing hot outside is priceless!

Deodorant: Obviously deodorant is an essential always, but especially during summer when things get sweaty. I love love love Necessaire’s deodorant. It’s clean, meaning it’s free of baking soda, aluminum, and synthetic fragrance, and it contains mandelic acid to deodorize, lactic acid to soothe post-shave, and mineral complex for comfort. I use the unscented option and love it!

Eye Masks: A little tradition I have is using these Elemis Pro-Collagen Hydra-Gel Eye Masks any time I spend the day laying out by the pool.
